If you're planning a visit to Tamala Park Waste Management Facility, it's important to know which gas bottles and cylinders are accepted for recycling and disposal. To help make your trip as smooth as possible, here's a quick guide on what you can – and can't – bring.

Accepted gas bottles and cylinders: Tamala Park accepts a variety of small household gas bottles and cylinders as part of the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program. These include:

  • Propane bottles
  • Camping gas (butane)
  • Camp stove bottles (isopropane/butane)
  • BBQ gas bottles

Not accepted: Unfortunately, not all types of gas bottles are accepted. Please do not bring the following:

  • Sodastream bottles
  • Nitrous oxide canisters and bottles
  • Bromic canisters
  • Nitrogen canisters and bottles
  • Argon gas bottles
  • Car LPG tanks (these should be disposed of at the weighbridge)
  • Acetylene bottles
  • CO2 bottles
  • Welding gas (oxygen)
  • Whipped cream gas
  • Beer kegs

Before you go: Remember, the acceptance of gas bottles is subject to the discretion of the attendants. For items that can't be dropped off at Tamala Park, consider returning them to the retailer or supplier where you purchased them.

By following these guidelines, you'll help ensure your visit to Tamala Park is hassle-free and that your items are properly disposed of or recycled.
